ABIDE IN LOVE
Abide In Love
It takes one quarter to call home from detention.
And until then — your family doesn’t know where you are. Your lawyer doesn’t know. You’re just…. disappeared.
But I know a group of women,
who are changing that.
Abide in Love
They are proof that even in the darkest systems — people can be the light. With art. With creativity. With community.
They deposit money into
ICE detainee accounts
the moment they arrive —
offering access to the world.
To medicine.
To hope.
Because until the system changes,
we have to get creative.
We have to organize.
Fundraise.
We have to show up like
not everyone sucks.
Like people care.
Because they do. We do.
So host a yard sale.
Bring back bake sales.
Create art and donate funds.
This group is the real deal.
And we can contribute to their greatness.
It takes a quarter to call home.
But imagine what we could do
with thousands.

Full Disclosure: Although I am involved in this group, I do not pull my weight. All praise goes to the incredible women in my community: Lucy, Amy, Endi, Lynn, and many, many more.
